GENERAL OVERVIEW

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the educational activities for the assigned service, participating in meeting the educational needs for patient care service and maintains clinical expertise.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies.

  • Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.

  • Serves as a consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, professional development and provides direct patient care.

  • Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • 3 years RN experience in an Emergency Department
  • Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • 1 year demonstrated formal or informal experience in teaching (can include clinical instructor; teaching at the unit/hospital level; or combination of all)
  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
