JOB SUMMARY
The VP Enterprise Transformation Strategy is accountable for a comprehensive business planning process translating the Living Health strategy to the bold and disruptive actions needed to take in three and five year timeframes to meet our goals and objectives. This business planning is critical to ensure that our people are focused on the most critical work to drive to the goals and objectives defined. The goal of this area will be to proactively work with our leaders to understand, plan, and execute the business process changes that will be necessary to meet our goals and objectives. The incumbent will work proactively with cross-functional executive teams to understand, plan and execute the business process changes that will be necessary to achieve our goals including roadmap planning, implementation, and portfolio health assessment including providing solutions to improve execution.
Will provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of an Enterprise Transformation group internal consulting group inclusive of research and development and value delivery teams, in support of Highmark Health's overall transformation to improve and innovate work across the enterprise. This will include working to set the overall strategy for the group, identifying and scoping projects, delivering projects, and helping the business plan with implementation and value realization. Projects can span a wide breadth including operating model, process engineering and improvement, governance and metrics frameworks, digitally enabled design (e.g. robotic process automation, Artificial Intelligence), new ways of working (e.g. agile), and introduction of new capabilities through research and development efforts. Projects are primarily large, complex projects and cross multiple functions and business units.
Additionally, will serve as a core member of the cross-functional thinkUP leadership team helping to set overall strategy and objectives for the transformation program. The leadership team includes senior leaders, for example, from Strategy & Transformation Office, AI Strategy & Enablement, Finance, Human Resources, and Communications aligned with a Business Unit President to deliver transformational strategies and outcomes. The incumbent will bring consulting, analytic, leadership, and change management skills, with a client focused orientation to the position to provide thought leadership and operational management to the consulting group allowing the group to meet or exceed its key performance indicators.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
Accountable for developing multi-year strategic roadmaps across the verticals of the enterprise business units as well as well as across the enterprise in a matrixed environment (Operations, Segments, Markets, Product, Technology, etc.). Accountable for business transformation scorecards, dashboards and reporting to enterprise leadership to manage, monitor and ensure outcomes are achieved and mitigation plans are managed accordingly.
Set overall strategy and direction for Enterprise Transformation group including strategic goals, capabilities, resources. Increase maturity of new and existing business transformation capabilities including digital redesign with AI capabilities, Research and Development, and scaling of new solutions from R&D capability area.
Leads the core Enterprise Effectiveness function. Identifies and manages the functions team members, educates and empowers the team, and determines the team structural needs to align to the overall thinkUP transformation. Provides oversight/guidance to team members responsible for leading projects and teams, scanning the market, developing business cases, applying analytics metrics that help define structure and/or measure progress against KPIs/benchmarks. Ensures that Enterprise Effectiveness resources are most effectively applied by periodically reviewing project intake and resource allocation processes.
