GENERAL OVERVIEW
Provides noninvasive diagnostic Cerebrovascular, Peripheral Arterial, and Venous testing for both inpatient and outpatient populations. Assists the department supervisor with technical direction, department QA and various other functions as required. Provides patient care through patient assessment, physical evaluation and implementation of exam procedures.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts individualized patient assessment regarding ordered Vascular Lab procedures. Performs complex Cerebrovascular, Peripheral Arterial and Venous examinations, including treadmill exercise stress testing, intraoperative imaging procedures, plethysmography testing for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and cold immersion procedures for Raynauds disease. (55%)
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of and in the use of all department computers and diagnostic equipment. Demonstrates proficiency in department documentation practices and clerical functions. Maintains records in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements. (30%)
- Aids in the daily operation of the Vascular Lab under the direction of the Vascular Lab supervisor. (5%)
- Demonstrates care of the Vascular Lab equipment and environment of care. (5%)
- Maintains RVT active status and participates in various teaching and research functions of the Vascular Lab. (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- ARDMS certified RVT.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a staff technologist.
CPR – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
- Arterial duplex imaging including grafts and some Raynaud's, Thoracic Outlet and intraoperative experience preferred.
