GENERAL OVERVIEW

Serves as mentor to new Transport Services Associates, temporary staff, volunteers and students in the Business Center that provide patient transport duties. Transports patients, medical records, mail, specimens and equipment/materials throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentors new hires in how to maximize customer service and provide service in the safest manner, (10%)
  • Instructs new hires in properly using the Paging System to update status as tasks are assigned. (10%)
  • Provides instruction in the proper transport procedures and body mechanics. (10%)
  • Serves as a resource for new hires regarding Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures (20%)
  • Transports inpatients and outpatients within the facility from initial start location to the destination location.(15%)
  • Delivers equipment/materials and specimens to requesting department.(15%)
  • Serves as a Hospital ambassador and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.(10%)
  • Ensures that transportation equipment is kept clean and in good working order.(10%)

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Minimum of 2 yrs patient transport experience required.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
