GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the centralization and standardization of all nursing staff education throughout Allegheny Health Network and/or the outpatient setting. Establishes a system wide educational plan with goals in alignment with the strategic mission of organization. Provides an educational framework for excellence in staff education and professional practice which include best practices that result in a high performing educational team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes an educational model/process to identify and reflect best practices for standardization of nursing education and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. (25%)
- Effectively organizes and implements a centralized nursing education department to include all members of the nursing team. (25%)
- Selects, directs, evaluates, recommends, and implements approved disciplinary action. (5%)
- Plans, manages and oversees all aspects to create a culture of professional excellence to provide high quality care with positive outcomes. (10%)
- Leads teams and drives cultural change to incorporate systems thinking and team approach. (10%)
- Incorporates health information technology into nursing education and utilizes and shares quality dashboards to manage, plan educational activities. (10%)
- Creates a certified centralized staff education team focused on shared decision making. (10%)
- Communicates effectively with interprofessional teams. Organizes and plans meetings and conferences. (5%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- Masters degree in Nursing
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- Five years experience as a nurse educator
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
- PhD
