Want to take on an exciting challenge that will put you at the head of the class? Our Internships give you that opportunity. Through a variety of assignments, you’ll be able to turn your knowledge into real-life achievement.

We offer both rotational and 10-12 week full-time internships. You’ll work with experienced professionals as you gain meaningful, hands-on experience and skill development. You can look forward to:

Development Programs

We’re looking for high-potential performers with a passion for finance to join us in this 3-5 year, graduate-level rotational program. You’ll rotate through a variety of roles as you immerse yourself in strategic and operational priorities across the finance organization and collaborating business units.

As an Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) associate, you’ll enter the health care IT field, and with the chance to be accepted into the program months before you graduate, you’ll gain bragging rights over your peers. In this two-year program, you’ll go through four rotations in one of these disciplines:

In this graduate-level program, you’ll rotate through various teams to develop core skills and gain experience in delivering health care technology solutions to budget, to timescale and to the highest standards of client satisfaction. The unique program will afford you direct client interaction and the ability to make a dramatic impact within the organization.

Looking to gain in-depth exposure to the inner workings of a world-class health system? You’ll find what you’re looking for with the Allegheny Health Network Administrative Fellowship Program. This two-year rotational post-graduate training program offers Master’s students the opportunity to gain insight into the operational, clinical, and strategic growth of Allegheny Health Network and the health care system. You’ll operate under the mentorship and guidance of your Preceptor and other executive leaders, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in health care management.

AHN Nurse Extern Program

Our 11-week Allegheny Health Network Summer Nurse Extern Program will expose you to real-life scenarios and hands-on experiences in fast-paced hospital settings, testing the skills learned in school while challenging you to expand your knowledge.

What one of our externs said

During the summer as a PNA, I was able to expand my knowledge on various aspects of patient care and apply what I had learned previously to everyday real-life scenarios. The externship has really prepared me to step into the RN role when I graduate next year as the program has a hands on approach. The staff was quick to involve me with whatever they could. If there was an interesting case or a bedside procedure being done, they pulled me aside and made sure I was able to have that experience.

I always strive to put the patient first and meet any needs they may have during this stressful time in their life. No one wants to be admitted to the hospital, but you can really make a difference by being there for them and providing the best possible care. Without having a team that is cohesive with the same values and work ethic, it would be much harder to provide that care. Luckily, I am surrounded by professionals who are always there to help and look out for each other.

To qualify for a nurse extern position, you must be enrolled in an approved diploma/degree nursing program. We also encourage you to have had at least two semesters of clinical.

Entry Level

We understand that Development Programs are not for everyone. That’s why we offer full-time Associate-level opportunities for recent college graduates across our portfolio of leading health care companies.

These opportunities are functionally aligned and support all of our business. The Associate-level positions become available based on business needs. Be sure to check back often for the latest openings!
