Once you’ve found a position that matches your skills and background, be sure to submit your employment application. You’ll receive an email confirming your application has been received. Once your application is in our system, we’ll begin the review process which can vary by position, but on average takes 1-2 weeks. You can check your application status at any time by logging into our Career Opportunities page.
Once your application has been reviewed – and if you’ve been selected to move forward in our process – you will receive an email invitation to complete an online assessment from our partner, Gallup.
This assessment focuses on your match to our culture and the position. It allows us to better understand the unique abilities you can bring to Highmark Health that may not be found on your resume.
Depending on the position, the assessment may only take 10 minutes or it might be more involved and take up to 45 minutes. Please note, our interviewing and selection process will only continue upon completion of the assessment.
Once your assessment has been submitted, a recruiter will review your application, resume and assessment results to determine if we will proceed to an interview. Depending on the position, you may have either a phone, video, and/or face-to-face interview.
If selected for an interview, our team will be in contact to ensure you have all the necessary information prior to your interview.

If you are selected to receive a job offer, our team will be in contact to discuss all the details including pay, benefits, paid time off – all the perks of working here – and next steps.
Once you’ve electronically accepted an offer, you’ll start our pre-employment screening process, which minimally includes a drug screening and background check.
Some roles within our provider network, Allegheny Health Network, may also require an employee health screening.
We will be in contact with you to ensure you know what is expected from you during this time and will reconfirm your start date once all pieces of the pre-employment process have cleared.
At this point, you will receive an email with a link to our brief candidate experience survey. While your participation is optional, we value and appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to improve.
