GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job provides specialized photography services to ophthalmic patients.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform ophthalmic photography to document pathologic findings and conditions. (30%)

  • Explain procedures to patients, monitor their comfort, and provide information about their condition. (20%)

  • Process and store captured images, ensuring their quality and accessibility for clinical use. (20%)

  • Manage specialized ophthalmic imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality and image quality. (10%)

  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professional to support patient care and education. (10%)

  • May assist in administrative tasks such as inventory management and supply ordering. (10%)

  • Other duties as assigned or requested.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • High School/GED

  • 3 years of experience in Ophthalmic photography

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree

  • Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA)

  • Optical Coherence Tomographer - Certified (OCT-C)

SKILLS:

  • Proficient in using computers, printers, and software programs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed to interact with patients, colleagues, and other medical professionals

  • Knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy, terminology and disease processes
