GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Directs day-to-day operational activities and functions within the Materials Management Area to meet the supply needs of the Hospital; maintains highest levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by responding in a pro-active manner to customer/staff/vendor inquiries.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs day-to-day activities of materials handling department to include prioritization of work assignments, staff scheduling, and training of new hires. (30%)
- Coordinates staff and available resources consistent with organizational policies, procedures and standards, audit and regulatory requirements and sound business practice. (20%)
- Develops and maintains a positive, professional relationship with department staff, customers and support departments to ensure open lines of communication; understands customer needs, identifies and resolves issues, performs customer in-service, education, and improvement planning. (20%)
- Staff performance evaluations. (10%)
- Adheres to policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the hospital as well as regulatory bodies. (10%)
- Processes customer inquiries. (10%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- High school diploma or GED; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years’ materials handling experience.
- Thorough knowledge of supply chain principles, warehousing and inventory control.
Preferred
- 1-3 years leadership experience.
