Highmark Health seeks a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to design, develop, implement, and maintain Business Intelligence solutions to support business needs, following BI development best practices and innovative use of appropriate technologies and systems. Specific duties include: (i) designing and developing ETL workflows and datasets using Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as SAS and Alteryx; (ii) transforming data into visual analytics using Tableau and Power BI to present patterns, trends, and insights to clients; (iii) working with analysts to create statistical models and Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive, and Prescriptive analytics as well as utilizing emerging, advanced BI features to provide competitive BI solutions to clients; (iv) promoting self-service analytic functionality and automating slow, repetitive processes; and (v) providing input on strategies regarding platforms, tools, and technical staffing to meet customer needs.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Health Informatics, or directly related discipline and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a directly related position.
The required five (5) years of experience must include five (5) years in Data Analytics and three (3) years in Health Insurance.
Experience must include: (i) gathering requirements, defining metrics, and cleansing and preparing data; (ii) one (1) of the following relational databases and complex data architectures: Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, or Apache Hive; (iii) SAS and Alteryx BI Analytics tools; and (iv) BI Visualization tools Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.
