Job Description :
Highmark Health seeks an Artificial Intelligence Scientist in Pittsburgh, PA to work directly with businesses to understand their questions, business processes, audits, programs and initiatives, then use the collected information to identify how analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions could ensure a more effective/efficient process and save healthcare from fraud, waste, and abuse activities. Specific duties include: (i) outlining new use cases, creating high level impact estimates, and identifying the necessary data elements (including proxies) to deliver analytical and AI solutions; (ii) data modeling, processing, and mining high volumes of structured/unstructured data and applying AI techniques on the data sets to deliver high quality business insight; (iii) consulting with the business to contextualize and translate the results of the analysis performed so that the business can understand and take appropriate action; (iv) writing reports, building BI solutions, and presenting data visualizations that draw clear lines between the high-level problem specifications, the analysis performed, and how the results link directly back to the business objectives; and (v) automating the manual processes along with continuously scanning new tools, advanced analytical/AI techniques and partnering with leading vendors or experts to contribute to our portfolio of next-generation AI projects.
Must have a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related position. Alternate requirement: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in one of the noted disciplines plus six (6) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.
Must have any experience: (i) processing high volumes of structured and unstructured data using Teradata, Oracle, DB2, and Hadoop; (ii) developing AI solutions using one or more of the following AI techniques: Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, or Robotic Process Automation (RPA); (iii) performing data mining and statistical analysis using the methods of Regression, Classification, and Clustering via SAS, R, or Alteryx designer; (iv) building advanced analytics, including the development of data-driven models using Java, Python, or Scala; and (v) developing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions including data visualizations using Tableau or Power BI.
