BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST
West Penn Allegheny Health System, Inc. seeks a Business Intelligence Analyst to work in Pittsburgh, PA, with Business Intelligence and healthcare professionals to gather, organize, and present data to users. Will present meaningful analytics to the business in non-technical terms and formats as well as create basic and ad hoc reporting for users as well as train users on software and assist users with advanced reporting. Duties include: (i) developing business intelligence solutions through knowledge of user needs, appropriate data repositories, business intelligence development best practices and innovative use of technologies and systems; (ii) delivering ad hoc data and report requests, analyzing data needs for both users and projects; (iii) administering the analytics and reporting systems, monitoring systems performance, coordinating upgrades, and creating and maintaining user documentation; and (iv) providing user/system support services; (v) collaborating with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related position.
Must also have any experience with or knowledge of: (i) gathering business requirements and system specifications from business operational owners and create requirement documents and mockups; (ii) creating, distributing, scheduling and maintaining the operational and analytic reports/dashboard using Epic or related Reporting tools such as Crystal report, Microsoft SQL Management Studio, and SQL data pull etc.; (iii) delivering ad hoc data and report requests, analyzing data needs for both users and projects, investigating and analyzing data discrepancies, and assisting in migration and testing activities; (iv) administering the analytics and reporting systems, monitoring system performance, coordinating upgrades, and creating/maintaining user documentation; (v) SQL tuning to maximize query performance and efficiency; (vi) troubleshooting general code and database structures; (vii) independently conducting QA and presenting recommendations on a consistent basis.
Must be able to work shifts between 6:30am and 7:00pm M-F as well as 8am-4:30pm Sat/Sun. Must also be able to work 24-hour coverage on a rotating shift basis.
