GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Senior Transport Services Associate assists with coordination of patient transfers to minimize service delays, assists with preparation of staffing schedule and assists management in resolving minor
problems/issues associated with staffing coverage, equipment, and interactions with customers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transports patients, including those on cardiac monitors, from their rooms to testing site and back on a scheduled basis. Accurately analyzes and interprets ECG rhythms according to procedure. (45%)
- Coordinates patient transports to minimize delays; helps manager in resolving minor day-to-day
issues/problems, e.g. staff coverage, equipment issues, interactions with customers. (20%) - Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting department, including use of the pneumatic tube system. (10%)
- Maintains transportation equipment in good working order and alerts manager of any unresolved equipment issues and/or needs. (10%)
- Attends meetings when requested by management to represent the Transport Associates. (5%)
- Assists manager with preparation of monthly work schedules for Transport Service Associates. (5%)
- Assists manager with unit meetings by organizing and presenting information to the Transport Service Associates when requested. (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years’ experience as a Transport Services Associate.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training and/or experience interpreting rhythms.
