Job Description : 


Coordinates staffing for the Department of Nursing, and identifies and evaluates bed availability in all patient care departments.


  • Assists in providing adequate, competent staff for each of the nursing units by working closely with the Nurse Managers to identify their staffing needs. Coordinates and adjusts nursing schedules on a daily basis. Also reviews schedules for monthly projections. Looks and plans proactively for staffing needs created by vacancies and leave of absence. (35%)
  • Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, acts as the liaison with external staffing agencies. (10%)
  • Handles appropriate placement for all admissions and transfers in accordance with designated units and clinical standards. Works in conjunction with the physicians, managers, and staff to prioritize and expedite the patient placement, while resolving delays and obstacles. (40%)
  • Maintains statistical information. Maintains workflow in accordance to staffing pattern and/or per request of nurse directors. (15%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.



  • 1 year in a medical setting, customer service, secretarial and/or experience with various computer software programs.
  • Prior experience dealing with contacts. Payroll and/or human resource policies.
