JOB SUMMARY
This job will work closely with engineering and analysis teams to maintain, and monitor policies, standards, patterns, and models that govern and define the architecture of data in support of enterprise analytics. Enables the effective implementation of projects related to Big Data platforms as well as other analytic ecosystems. Provides guidance and education to staff on the proper analysis, consumption, and integration of Highmark Health enterprise data. Strong desire to learn new patterns and methods and to support their adoption and diffusion throughout the enterprise by working effectively with others.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with data engineering, data analysis, and IT support teams to architect and engineer solutions running on our Big Data and other analytic platforms.
- Create and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models of data assets and resources.
- Provide training and mentorship to others in an effort to support effective adoption and diffusion of architectural guidelines, rules, and artifacts.
- Establish and enforce data standards, patterns and optimizations to enable teams to deliver high-performance analytics. Collaborate with data science and analytic teams on future data needs, developing roadmaps, and setting expectations.
- Work with alternative analytic data systems to incorporate them into the operational data flow for analytics teams. This may include products purchased by the organization that must be ingested or modeled/derived data maintained by analytic teams.
- Engage with large functional efforts across multiple projects with minimal guidance. Manage relationships with customers of the function. Attend meetings with customers on a stand-alone basis or with team as needed.
- Ensure data flows and related information is being tracked, managed and documented. Document data models and the data ecosystem at large using tools of various means. Ensure stands are met for data engineering and delivery efforts.
- Remain current with Big Data technologies in order to recommend best approaches in order to perform current and future work. Adhere to all corporate standards, procedures, and guidelines, including audits.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or Software Engineering
Substitutions
- 6 years relevant and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor degree
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or Software Engineering
EXPERIENCE
Required
-
5 years of varied experience in supporting enterprise data initiatives (analytics, data warehousing, data modeling, data engineering, or statistical analysis)
-
5 years of strong experience in designing and interacting with relational data stores of various types
Preferred
- 5 years of strong experience with the integration of Highmark Health operational systems and data repositories
- 5 years of strong experience in providing training and mentorship to others to help them learn and grow
- 3 years with Big Data platforms and related technologies (Hadoop, Cloud)
- Knowledge/experience with FHIR US Core Data specifications/Implementation Guides
- Experience with modeling of Clinical Data

Pay Range Minimum:
$78,900.00Pay Range Maximum:
$146,000.00Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
