GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Functioning within the Health System's mission, values, objectives and policies and procedures, the Sr. Endoscopy Technician is a part of the medical team that uses endoscopes to diagnose and/or treat gastrointestinal problems. The Endoscopy Technician Sr. demonstrates proficient competency in assisting the physician with the case; assists with education, training and competency assessment of Endoscopy Technicians and other staff; and interacts effectively with the patient and the healthcare team to provide safe effective treatment for the patient. The Endoscopy Technician Sr. also acts as an endoscopy service line lead for inventory management and assists management in advancing programs as it relates to instrumentation, supplies, equipment, and quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all job responsibilities of an Endoscopy Technician. Knowledgeable of gastroenterology physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed and assist accordingly. (50%)
- Acts a day to day resource for all Endoscopy Technicians. (20%)
- Demonstrates competency of procedures, equipment, and instrumentation per applicable department policies and procedures. (10%)
- Orients and trains new staff and students. (10%)
- Maintains supplies and equipment. Assures the integrity/condition and availability of adequate equipment. (10%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- 3-5 years experience as an Endoscopy Technician
- CPR certification
