GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job provides direction and education to staff and area functions across all AHN imaging facilities; serves as a physician liaison; and assists with regulatory accreditation, as well as, working with imaging institute leaders to standardize protocols for all modalities. Works with staff to complete quality improvement projects and assist System Modality Manager with accreditation with all regulatory bodies as well as implementation of the Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence centers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with lead technologists and managers to create quality improvement projects identified though data analysis, incident reporting system or root cause analysis. (30%)
  • Provide onsite support to the imaging leaders regarding GRID and NRDR, technical staff education, protocol standardization, equipment purchase/maintenance/oversight through traveling to all AHN imaging site, as well as provides assistance in the set up of new programs. (30%)
  • Assist physics and radiologists with ACR accreditation compliance and renewals, QC activities, protocol development, patient dose reduction activities, and regulatory compliance including appropriate documentation, updates, coordination/distribution, and ensure implementation, and archiving.  Coordinate with radiation physics and technical staff on protocols, QC, ACR, technical staff education, radiation and MRI safety, regulatory compliance, inspection prep. (15%)
  • Work in conjunction with lead technologist achieve DICOE accreditation at all AHN imaging facilities. (15%)
  • Assure all required documentation is in place for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocol and image distribution. (5%)
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare, Business or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • 5 years experience as a Technologist
  • ARRT Registered Technologist, RT and ARRT Certification
  • CPR
  • Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • Certification or experience in two or more modalities 
  • Certification in CT or MRI
