Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides coordination of staff and area functions; may serve as a physician liaison. Performs prescribed diagnostic imaging and patient care services per established protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. Delivers positive patient experience and serves as a role model for Core Behaviors. Cooperates with and maintains excellent working relationships with patients, AHN leadership and staff, physician offices and designated external agencies or vendors. Performs any written or verbal communication necessary to exchange information with designated contacts and promote working relationships


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the daily operations and manages non-labor expenses, activities and inventory for the department; maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies. 
  • Positions patients and selects anatomical and technical parameters accurately to independently perform radiographic imaging. Prepares for and assists the physician in radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. May perform phlebotomy and EKG services. 
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g., regulatory, billing protocol and imaging distribution. 
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. 
  • Implements radiation protection, safety standards and assures compliance in the department. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • CPR Certification
  • Radiography certification


Preferred

  • Prior radiology experience in multiple modalities
