JOB SUMMARY

This job provides application development services typically as a of a project team or in an application support role. Developers analyze, design, code, test and implement systematic solutions to meet customer requirements that adhere to Highmark IT standards and policies.  Developers provide general support to maintain applications that meet the service levels, system availability, performance and quality levels required by their customers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

While the title is application developer the candidate will:

  • Be part of the Test Cycles Management Team with the testing organization
  • Will Monitor Batch Test jobs in the test environment
  • Submit tickets in Cherwell as needed.
  • Use Digital Agilty Workflow Management too las needed
  • Work with Product area Application Developers to address abend
  • Rerun/restart/force complete jobs per instruction
  • Will need to understand mainframe scheduling, JCL, IMS and Test Environment Management
  • Would Love someone who has knowledge of Claims Processing
  • While we try to limit, weekend and Overtime work required as needed.

  • be writing or maintaining programs
  • be part of application Development team
  • be putting code into production

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field

Substitutions

  • 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 3 years of experience as a developer
  • Experience with Project Management tools
  • Experience with databases
  • Experience with multiple coding languages

Preferred

  • None

SKILLS

  • Problem solving, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience in Healthcare or Health Insurance Industry
  • Experience with technology platforms, application development tools, business processes, software development life cycle used by Highmark enterprise

Pay Range Minimum:

$57,700.00

Pay Range Maximum:

$106,700.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.  The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
