JOB SUMMARY

This job takes a lead Testing role, within area of responsibility, and (application, solution, information, technology, business) designs, develops, implements, supports, and optimizes more complex architecture strategy to meet business capabilities and needs.  Takes a lead role to ensure completeness of more complex architecture by adequately addressing all the pertinent concerns of its stakeholders.  Ensures integrity of more complex architecture by connecting various views of stakeholders, reconciling conflicting concerns, and showing the trade-offs made in so doing.  Considers practicality and fitness for purpose in determining architecture to develop.  Leverages business and technology knowledge to enable and/or alter business processes, practices, organizations and systems.  Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and best in class industry business trends and practices.  May take on role of Project Lead for special assignments. May mentor less experienced team members.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the roll out of standardized testing terminology, methodology, test estimation models, templates etc.
  • Implement a Risk-Based Testing approach for test planning and execution
  • Work with Automation SMEs to implement and scale-up automation frameworks 
  • Develop reusable templates for documenting test plan, test objectives, test scripts, defects, and test summary
  • Optimize tool setup based on lessons learned from projects
  • Lead Highmark MBU defect management process
  • Define and implement the MBU data migration strategy (member, provider, clinical etc)
  • Work with Regression Test Lead to define and implement the Regression Test Framework 
  • Establish and operationalize the End-to-End testing framework 
  • Develop Specialized Testing Strategy to support testing of system’s non-functional requirements such as performance, security, chaos engineering, reliance, and resilience
  • Define and implement the MBU Test Data Management strategy 
  • Identify and mitigate/escalate risks and issues related to testing
  • Coordinate with other Testing teams to acquire/provision de-identified test data required to support planned testing
  • Coordinate with Release/Environment Management teams to setup testing environments to enable the planned testing

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field

Substitutions

  • 6 years of related experience in lieu of a 4 year degree

Preferred

  • Master's Degree

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 5 years in an IT discipline
  • 5 years in a Business discipline

Preferred

  • Health Insurance Industry business knowledge

SKILLS 

  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute testing at Enterprise level 
  • Proficient in End-to-End operational and technical flows across modules
  • Deep understanding of testing methodology, terminology, estimation models, templates etc.
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life-Cycle and associated processes
  • Demonstrated ability to identify test automation opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective use of Test Data
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Risk Based Testing approach
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage testing tools in Test Management
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate Risks and Issues related to Testing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset
  • Proficient in representing test status to leadership teams
  • Foundational understanding of health plan domains and experience working on core admin packages like Health Rules Payor
