As a Senior Analytic Data Engineer, you will work with complex healthcare data from many different healthcare domains. You will work closely with Product Management, Software Development, Data Science, and other Data Engineering teams to develop scalable and innovative analytical solutions that process and store large data sets of low latency structured and unstructured data, and enable the Member Listening System (MLS) team to build successful, data driven strategies.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing an analytical environment using third-party and in-house tools and using Python or R to automate the ETL, analytics, data services (RESTful APIs and Real time data processing) and data quality platform from the ground up. You will design and implement complex data models, model metadata, build reports and dashboards, and own data presentation and dashboarding tools for the end users of our data products and systems. You will write scalable, highly tuned SQL queries running over billions of rows of data.

You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets, across a variety of data platforms. You should have excellent business and interpersonal skills to be able to work with business owners to understand data requirements, and to implement efficient and scalable ETL and REST solutions. You should be an authority at crafting, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low cost solutions to replicate data from production systems into the BI data store.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with IT, architect and engineer solutions that provide views for the Analytic Data Warehouse.  This would include the working with the proper teams, assisting with the design, building out the design, and providing upkeep for the solution.
  • Assemble, test, process, and maintain the Analytic Discovery Platform for the analytics organizations.  This will include working to maintain pipelines with key analytic platforms throughout the organization. 
  • Work with alternative analytic data systems to incorporate them into the operational data flow for the Analytics Teams.  This may include products purchased by the organization that must be ingested or modeled/derived data maintained by analytic teams.
  • Independently lead functional efforts for assigned projects with limited supervision.  This include the guidance and education of Intermediate contributors within this team.  Meet individually with customers for specific projects and attend with Intermediates for support. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Analysis, Data Processing, Healthcare Informatics, Management Information Systems, or related field

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 3 - 5 years of Data Analytics experience

Preferred

  • Authoritative in ETL optimization, designing, coding, and tuning data processes
  • Experience with building data pipelines and applications to stream and process datasets at low latencies
  • Demonstrate efficiency in handling data - tracking data lineage, ensuring data quality, and improving discoverability of data
  • Knowledge of Engineering and Operational Excellence using standard methodologies.
  • Design, implement, and improve the analytics platform
  • Implement and simplify self-service data query and analysis capabilities of the MLS platform
  • Develop and improve the current MLS architecture, emphasizing data security, data quality and timeliness, scalability, and extensibility
  • Deploy and use various data technologies and run pilots to design low latency data architectures at scale
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, product managers, software development engineers, and other teams to develop, implement a data as a service architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or 5+ years relevant experience
  • Expert level skills writing and optimizing complex SQL
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
  • Experience in data mining, profiling, and analysis
  • Experience with complex data modelling, ETL design, RESTFul service creation and using large databases in a business environment
  • Proficiency with Linux command line and systems administration
  • Experience with languages like Python, R, or similar language
  • Experience with cloud technologies like GCP
  • Proven ability to develop unconventional solutions; Sees opportunities to innovate and leads the way
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; Proven interpersonal skills and ability to convey key insights from complex analyses in summarized business terms; Ability to effectively communicate with technical teams
  • Ability to work with shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to properly document solutions in our wiki
  • Ability to navigate a proper software development cycle and jira task prioritization
