JOB SUMMARY

This jobs is responsible for providing senior architectural leadership, direction and governance for Highmark’s multi cloud strategy and initiatives. Implements enterprise cloud architecture strategy and drives the adoption of cloud services. Responsible for the execution and refinement of the cloud platform strategy. Formulates architecture, establishes governance, manages cloud providers, facilitates adoption and leading the cloud Center of Enablement (CCOE). Act as a liaison and consultant to various technology organizations on best practices, principles and processes required to leverage best in class cloud capabilities and technologies. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, lead and direct cloud initiatives on multiple fronts, including leading the CCOE.
  • Provide input into  the executive vision and make it a reality, while driving  the cloud adoption and governance process. Communicate and collaborate to promote strong partnerships between the architects, engineers, developers and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of cloud specific technical aspects in multiple areas of expertise and provide    recommendations for solutions and designs. The areas expertise may be any aspect of information, technology, technique, method, process, product, or application area.
  • Drive and govern appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensures that they are applied effectively.
  • Lead and facilitate development of cloud enabled enterprise business solutions that combine knowledge of business strategies, processes and gaps, technological options, and process facilitation techniques.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring in their areas of expertise and architecture to peers, developers, and management and business users including technical expertise, coaching and ad-hoc training.
  • Drive and lead Cloud Architecture inter-dependency between the  Cloud Architecture and Enterprise Architecture strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field or 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu
  • 7 years of technical expertise in both mainframe and/or open systems environments (system software, application software, databases, etc.) to include: 3 years as a technology lead with technical decision making responsibilities in an enterprise environment OR  3 years of IT solution delivery and providing consultative solution architecture/support services of enterprise scope and depth

Preferred

  • 7 years in the Healthcare Industry
  • Architect Certification (Google, AWS, MS Azure)

KEY SKILLS

  • Broad technical experience and understanding of multiple disciplines including; Automation and Orchestration, Infrastructure and Operations, Enterprise Integration, Application Architecture, Security Architecture and External hosting practices.
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of technical security that protects the organization’s assets. Awareness of security policies, network security, data security and security event management to adopt cloud security services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Broad IT platform and application expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of architectural disciplines and industry standards, The Open Group Framework Architecture (TOGAF), Lean, Six Sigma, Information.
  • Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts, constructs and terminology.
  • Ability to engage mid level business and IT leadership to understand the goals of the organization.
  • Clearly communicate business strategies, and articulate dependencies and requirements, to business leaders.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of IT budgeting, IT contracts and clauses such as indemnification, notification and limitation of liability.
