JOB SUMMARY
This job is responsible for developing and executing on Gateway’s CSR and charitable contribution strategy and integrating the strategy with other key departments, business units, and internal stakeholders to enhance Gateway's position in the Medicaid and Medicare landscape and to assist in mitigating the negative health impact of adverse social conditions and so called Social Determinates of Health (SDOH). The incumbent will manage and oversee all corporate donations and sponsorships. Responsible for the development and execution of defined strategies that promote the corporation’s Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability initiatives in Pennsylvania and other areas within the corporation's footprint. The incumbent also requires a high level of visibility in these counties at community events and on-site visits to local nonprofit organizations and potential funding partners. Represents Gateway and its senior management by regularly working with community stakeholders and leaders, such as government officials, non-profit CEOs, and senior executives throughout the region, to assess the local issues and determine where Gateway can provide corporate support that would benefit our members and the communities in which they live. Advises Gateway senior management of emerging community issues and opportunities. Assists Gateway in developing, managing, and altering social responsibility policies, and using internal communications to reinforce Gateway's social responsibility policies in coordination with the Marketing team. In support of Gateway's leadership position in the community, the incumbent will represent Gateway on key boards and regional advisory committees in order to connect the corporation with other community leaders, corporate partners, and customers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
- Oversee all corporate donations and sponsorships. Ensures the overall quality and timeliness of all aspects of the donation process, including protecting the corporation from risk exposure
- Develop and implement clear and concise donation administration policies and develop materials to support CSR positioning. Protect and build the company’s overall reputation through communications, award submissions and more, supporting philanthropic efforts and sustainability initiatives.
- Conduct weekly donation review meetings with direct reports, which involves corporate contribution recommendations and decision making, while adhering to all corporate policies with regard to corporate funding and budgeting.
- Promote Gateway's initiatives to address health and health insurance for the uninsured and under-insured, strategically identifying and cultivating corporate sponsorships opportunities, representing Gateway in the community and serving on key community boards and committees. Oversees Gateway's volunteer program.
- Provide direction, leadership, and expertise to cross-functional teams in many key departments in order to increase the success of Gateway's business goals. Work closely with Sales, Markets, Provider, Government Affairs, and others. Take a leadership role on special Community Affairs initiatives as identified by the Vice President. Serve as team leader on key Community Affairs operational strategies.
- Direct and develop staff to carry out the strategies that include community contributions and sponsorships, collaborative partnerships, and participation in public and social events.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Science or Health
Substitutions
- 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
