Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Performs ultrasound imaging and patient services as per protocols and/or as directed by physicians. Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Positions patients, selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to independently perform ultrasound imaging. Prepares for and assists physician during ultrasound procedures.(65%)
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.(10%)
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols, and image distribution. Notifies physician of any complications.(20%)
  • Maintains adequate supplies for efficient section/department operation.(5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS),or ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(S) or registry
  • eligible. Registration required within 12 months of hire.
  • May require RVT Registration or RDMS (Breast) certification based on service area.
  • CPR certification may be required upon hire.  
  • One year of breast ultrasound experience if working breast imaging area required.

Preferred

  • One year of ultrasound experience preferred.
