JOB SUMMARY

This job is responsible for providing executive level leadership, direction and governance for the HM Health Solutions Enterprise Architecture Organization. The scope of Enterprise Architecture includes: enterprise architecture strategy (championing the direction and synergies across our business units and corporate functions); technology innovation; complex solution architecture; ensuring that our business strategy and any relevant trends are understood, rationalized and expressed as part of architectural designs and processes. This job will be the "technology visionary" for the enterprise with the ability to influence strategy and behaviors within areas of responsibility and throughout HM Health Solutions. This job requires experience in all areas of architecture with an emphasis on enterprise level technology and software integration and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and our customers. This job requires a high level of skill in driving and influencing business outcomes and consensus driven decisions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Work with the business stakeholders to develop Enterprise Architecture deliverables that articulate the business strategy, business outcomes, business capabilities and other elements needed to support business outcomes such as investment and cost analysis.
  • Develop and implement HM Health Solutions technology innovation agenda to ensure that HM Health Solutions is a leader in the application of technology to our various businesses. Interface with the businesses and executive management on strategies with alignment to technology and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain HM Health Solutions enterprise wide technology architecture strategy which catalogues the existing architectures, identifies areas for synergies and provides guidelines to maximize the return on investment across the enterprise.
  • Provide leadership and direction to integrate architecture best practices into critical processes and disciplines such as acquisition/purchasing, vendor management, portfolio/program management and project management.
  • Develop the solution architecture function to support HM Health Solutions most important and complex initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree - Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field

Substitution

  • 6 years of relevant, progressive experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree

Preferred

  • Master's Degree - Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
  • 8+ years' of technical expertise in both mainframe and/or open systems environments (system software, application software, databases, etc.)
  • 8+ years' of technical expertise in both mainframe and/or open systems environments (system software, application software, databases, etc.)
  • 10+ years' experience in the healthcare industry
  • 10+ years' of experience in IT solution delivery

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in leadership and management of IT environments of appropriate scale and complexity, ideally either leading an Enterprise Architecture organization or a group within an architecture function
  • Experience in all aspects of Senior Architecture roles, including leading the development and execution of comprehensive IT strategies and roadmaps and the development and execution of architectural requirements and technology standards
  • Broad and deep IT platform and application expertise
  • Excellent ability to engage senior business and IT leadership to understand the goals of the organization.
  • Clearly communicate business strategies, and articulate dependencies and requirements, to business leaders.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to influence innovation to establish and execute planning processes
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong analytic and conceptual skills and solid financial analysis skills coupled with demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient  at influencing the organization at a business, executive and technical level
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of the health care industry trends and directions
