Job Description :
$5,000 Sign on Bonus
Independently works to perform routine and special histological procedures on patient tissue specimens.
- Embeds, sections, accurately labels and processes tissue sections in accordance with department policies and procedures to produce slides for pathologist's review. Performs routine and special staining procedures. (45%)
- Operates, calibrates, checks and maintains instrumentation. Recognizes and troubleshoots problems with quality control and test procedures and takes appropriate action to ensure quality clinical information. (25%)
- Serves as a consultant to histotechnicians and other health care providers as needed. (5%)
- Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations. (15%)
- May assist with collection of anatomic pathology specimens. (5%)
- May mentor students and new employees in laboratory testing following WPAHS policies and procedures. (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- Bachelor's degree in ASCP eligible program or equivalent
- HTL (ASCP) or equivalent certification or eligible
- Clinical histology experience
