JOB SUMMARY

We are making a seismic shift away from trying to fix health care, to creating a new model of health that is dynamic, perpetual and focused on individuals and their health journey.  We call it Living Health. Living Health is built on providers and payers “care and coverage” working together in service of customers and clinicians. The model has two parts:  Solutions - Better designed answers for customer and clinician problems that improve customer engagement, clinician engagement, health outcomes, and affordability; and Partnerships – networks of partners organized to reduce cost and deliver solutions.  The Manager, Solution Validation Studies is responsible for the oversight and operations of the Solution Validation Studies team and the development of the Living Health Solution’s test & learn quantitative study portfolio. This incumbent works in close collaboration with team members, leadership, and other matrixed partners to ensure a high standard of scientific rigor in the development and delivery of accurate and impactful test & learn pilot and longer-term solution measurement and evaluation plans which produce quantifiable insights and outcomes reporting from a multitude of stakeholder viewpoints, including customers and clinicians.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
  • Oversee the development, execution, analysis, and reporting of individual studies and the portfolio, including creation and execution of study designs and RWE outcomes. While leading collaborations with the qualitative study managers to integrate qualitative approaches and outcomes into each clinical study, and enable operational success and learnings.
  • Accountable for creation and delivery of the internal and external RWE deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders, including oversight of publications on study outcomes.
  • Manage and evolve current commercial product portfolio and develop new evidence-based products targeted toward external customers. Actively engage with both internal and external customers to maintain alignment with program goals and objectives. Oversee team member engagement with internal and external customers.
  • Actively participate and lead team members and other stakeholders to advance dissemination of study outcomes and program objectives, including preparation and review of manuscripts (co-authorship) for publication, and internal or external presentations in support of the program. Ensure that all projects or initiatives are delivered on time and in accordance with the agreed upon scope.  This includes both internally driven work as well as any work contracted by external clients, and work in support of strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Work with leadership to establish the vision and strategy for the function and determine how this function can best support the Enterprise strategic initiatives. Collaboratively develop the scope, planning, execution and delivery of all functional related efforts. Ensure that the program remains current with emerging industry best practices and techniques with respect to RWE study and analytical capabilities, which may include travel to conferences, webinars, or other means.
  • Lead collaboration with matrixed partners in the Enterprise Analytics team to provide oversight of analytic personnel and drive analytic components of each study. 
  • Work closely with matrixed partners in the enterprise clinical office (ECO) and provider network to provide clinical consultation and oversight. Work with other partners, both within the Enterprise and partners outside the Enterprise (eg. Strategic provider partners), to advance the mission of the clinical solutions validation and transformation team and the Living Health model.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, or Health related field

EXPERIENCE


Required

  • 5 years in healthcare, clinical and/or biomedical research, or healthcare innovation with responsibility for: a) consulting arrangements and/or management, b) program and project management or c) management of professional staff in a business, clinical or technology function OR

  • 5 years in solving business, financial and/or clinical problems, including use use of technologies and analytical methodologies, preparation of related recommendations and presentations of findings to various levels of management and external parties

  • 3 years in a management or supervisory role
