JOB SUMMARY

This job is responsible for partnering with business customers, functional managers, hardware asset management,  procurement, contract management and finance teams across the Highmark Health enterprise to achieve asset management program compliance including full software lifecycle management.  Maintaining and building software license compliance using software asset management tools to optimize software asset management workflow, compliance, and manage audit data requests, and provide support for software renewal renegotiations. Accountable for leading and driving development and continuous improvement of maintenance processes, policies, and procedures.  


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Software Management: Maintain software license entitlements and purchases order data within asset management tool; translating terms in contracts and purchase orders into the proper software asset management metrics for entitlements; entering software license entitlements, processing purchase orders in tool; conducting research to mitigate data gaps; conducting analysis and follow-up to manage software installation against contract/license/purchase usage rights. 
  • Software Reconciliation: Leads the gathering and monitoring of software counts / subscriptions, interpreting software usage rights, monitors and tracks usage and proposes alternatives for licensing optimization and cost reduction.  Identify under-utilized and "at risk" software publishers. Aid management by providing program updates, metrics and interpret data into action to impact and influence business outcomes.   
  • Process Development:  Develop and deliver SAM training to less experience staff on best practices, tool usage, processes and procedures to build their understanding of SAM accountabilities; and presentations to increase awareness across the organization of the SAM Program.  
  • Audit Support: Support data requests for active software audits, proactively evaluate inventory and assist with developing business practices and controls to prepare for potential software audits.  
  • Collaboration:  Work with business owners, procurement, hardware and vendor management teams to ensure necessary controls and governance processes are in place are adequate and functioning for a quality SAM program.
  • Strategy: Stays current with relevant SAM best practices utilizing available online and instructor led training to expand knowledge of ITAM and SAM to mature the SAM Program to proactively manage risk and increase cost savings.

EDUCATION


Required

  • Bachelor's degree


Substitutions

  • 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

  • None


EXPERIENCE


Required

  • 5 years of Software Management or Hardware Management
  • Experience with Flexera Flex Net Management Suite, or similar Software Asset Management Tool
  • Experience with Software Lifecycle Management


Preferred

  • 3 years of Project Management
  • 3 years with benchmarking and establishing evaluation metrics
  • Experience in the Healthcare Field


LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS


Required

  • None

Preferred

  • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or similar industry standard certification
  • Flexera Certified Flex Net Management Suite Operator
