JOB SUMMARY

This job is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a specific functional area and a specialized small team.  This incumbent offers guidance and support to their team that aligns with the organization’s objectives, as laid out by the leadership team. They are responsible for the design, management, and documentation required to support their team’s deliverables. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of tasks or services being done by team members is on time, and in line with the expectations defined by leadership.             


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.

  • Ensures that operational, and strategic, policies are followed, and respective business objectives are achieved.

  • Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements

  • Responsible for delivering tasks/projects identified by senior management and achieving expected business results for themselves and their team members

  • Aligns their team work and directives to their leadership’s strategic direction  

  • Continuously improves business processes and technology to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.

  • Ensures quality and compliance from themselves and their team members

  • Other duties as assigned or requested.


EDUCATION


Required

  • Bachelor's Degree

Substitutions

  • 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree


Preferred

  • Master's Degree

EXPERIENCE


Required

  • 5 years in Strategic Planning, Technology, Project Management, or Program Management

  • 1 year in a leadership or management role

Preferred

  • 3 years in the Healthcare or Health Insurance Industry


LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS


Required

  • None

  • Six Sigma

SKILLS

  • Excellent ability to motivate team members

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Vision centered around strategic initiatives
