Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides mammographic imaging and patient care services as per protocol.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Prepares for and assists the physician in mammography procedures. (45%)
  • Implements radiation protection and safety standards.(10%)
  • Assesses and educates patients according to specific department protocols.(20%)
  • Participates in a quality assurance program according to FDA and MQSA regulations.(5%)
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocol and image distribution.(15%)
  • Maintains adequate supplies for efficient section/department operations.(5%)
  • May be required to perfrom multi-modality exams (DEXA, Breast Ultrasounds) depending on the site specific requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • ARRT Registered Technologist.
  • Additional ARRT certification in Mammography (M) required within 12 months of hire.
  • CPR may be required upon hire.

Preferred

  • 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
