GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Responsible for interacting with senior leadership and conducting assignments to recruit top physician talent across the organization. Organizes and executes all aspects of physician  recruitment including position detailing, generating candidates by sourcing nationally, screening candidates to match needs, working up leads and arranging candidate interviews.  Also assists with coordination of placement of locum tenens physicians as needed. Acts as in-house expert regarding physician recruitment and reports to and is mentored by the Director, Physician Recruitment.. The role mentors and provides direction and support to both Physician Recruiters and Physician TA coordinators and recruitment strategies and activities.  Encompassing all stages of the hiring process from partnering with executive management on search strategy and candidate requirements to developing sourcing strategies to target and access top physician talent. Responsible for driving specialized recruitment programs to address unique talent needs, broadening the organization's physician network, branding and enhancing pipeline development.       

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with clients and key stakeholders to define a recruiting strategy based on the specific opportunity, clearly communicating the process and setting and managing client expectations. Interprets the business requirements and translates them into successful recruitment solutions. (15%)
  • Generates physician  candidates  for each recruiting assignment in collaboration with the Physician Recruiters and Physician TA Coordinators by developing and implementing a search plan with administration or group overseeing the development of advertising copy for journal ads, internet sites, etc.;  Working with external recruitment agencies when appropriate. (35%)
  • The Senior Physician Recruiter mentors and provides direction and support to both Physician Recruiters and Physician TA coordinators and recruitment strategies and activities.  Works with the junior recruiter(s) to assist with projects as needed related to recruitment and retention. (15%)
  • Performing effective screening of candidates including in-depth phone screenings; Representing the opportunity in a professional and knowledgeable manner. Qualifies, screens and interviews prospective candidates.  Provides timely and effective feedback to groups and administration about the candidates post interview issues. (20%)
  • Acts as relocation liaison by: Keeping in contact with the candidate and key decision makers during negotiations to insure process culminates in a signed contract in a timely manner. (10%)
  • All other duties as assigned. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or related experience in lieu of degree
  • 5-7 years physician recruitment experience in an executive search firm environment or corporate setting
  • Valid PA Driver’s license

Preferred

  • 5-7 years prior experience in physician recruitment, recruiting in large matrix companies
