Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Coordinates completion of the Inpatient Rehab Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) with the interdisciplinary team, gathers and inputs data, transmits data to Medicare. Assists with staff education concerning Prospective Payment System (PPS) and Functional Independence Measure (FIM). Monitors and manages 3-hour per day therapy compliance for patients on the Inpatient Rehab Unit.                                  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates IRF PAI data collection with interdisciplinary team and completes admission and discharge IRF PAI within CMS designated timeframes. (50%)
  • Performs monthly PI audits and monitors CMS compliance. (20%)
  • Provides staff training on FIMS. (20%)
  • Conducts continued stay reviews. (5%)
  • Uses criteria required to identify and assess possible victims of abuse, neglect and domestic violence. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Licensed Social Worker, or Speech Language Pathologist
  • Demonstrates experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with patients' families, interdisciplinary health team members, outside payors, and regulatory groups
  • Demonstrates understanding of inpatient rehabilitation care to coordinate data collection and completion of IRF-PAI
  • Experience with FIMS
  • Excellent organizational skills and computer skills

Preferred

  • Experience with IRF-PAI
