GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Independently responsible for coordinating and collaborating clinical rotation placement of all nursing students, physician assistant, nurse practitioner and medical assistant students of affiliated schools to meet the needs of both health team professionals with in the Allegheny Health Network, external students and the community. Collaborates with and provides clinical coordination to the schools of nursing and graduate programs to assist with the recruitment of clinical staff to AHN. Coordinates learning opportunities provided within Allegheny Health Network for clinical students and APP's.                                          

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and confirms clinical rotation placement for clinical experiences and educational programs and initiatives related to students of affiliated schools throughout the Allegheny Health Network to impact recruitment and retention of students. (30%)
  • Maintains all required material related to students and communicates new information as needed to faculty, students and AHN employees. (20%)
  • Ensures on-site faculty completion of orientation prior to clinical rotation and administers and verifies said completion of mandatory education, clearances and competencies for students and faculty participation at Allegheny Health Network locations. (15%)
  • Assists with and tracks electronic health record access and technological support training of participating faculty and students. (10%)
  • Works collaboratively with legal department and schools o nursing to ensure an affiliation agreement is in place for a student seeking clinical placement. (10%)
  • Partners with Allegheny Health Network hospitals, Allegheny Clinic to identify preceptorship requests. (5%)
  • Schedules and coordinates education, Simulations opportunities to promote interprofessional education. (5%)
  • Assumes responsibility for working with a budget when ordering and maintaining office supplies and educational materials. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Evidence of previous experience organizing successful programs and people

Preferred

  • 2-3 years work experience in a clinical setting
  • Associate's degree in clinical/health care related
  • Bachelor's degree in clinical/health care related
