Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost effective functioning of the department.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%)
  • Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)
  • Orients new staff on the operation of laboratory equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%)
  • Anticipates adverse reactions/conditions when monitoring the effects of procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%)
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g., regulatory, billing protocols, and image storage and archival (10%)
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • 4 years experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology is required based on facility
  • Current registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive and independent judgment.

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Current registration with Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist preferred
