Job Description : 

JOB SUMMARY

Performs activities to lead the day-to-day Accounts Payable operations including, but not limited to, payment of vendor invoices and internal check requests on a timely and accurate basis.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and performs tasks over the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable team including ensuring invoices are timely processed and subsequently paid; reviewing invoices for accurate account classifications; and leading Accounts Payable staff to ensure adherence to established deadlines, policies and procedures.
  • Review invoice status and follow up on overdue invoices while also responding to vendor and departmental inquiries relative to payments and expense recording.  Coordinate three-way matching and general ledger coding with the Accounting and Procurement teams.
  • Manages the employee Travel & Entertainment expense reporting system (Concur) and disbursements.
  • Performs daily balancing procedures to ensure the integrity of the Accounts Payable system and associated data. Reconciles and corrects any variances so that general ledger interfaces are timely and accurate.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and distributes various reports for internal organizational use including but not limited to invoice approval productivity reports and vendor spend detail on an as needed basis.
  • Assists with managing month-end Accounts Payable closing processes.  On an annual basis, coordinates 1099 preparation, including vendor review and printing of 1099 forms.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Associate's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

Substitutions

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of an Associate's Degree

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 5 years in Accounts Payable or Finance

Preferred

  • Great Plains Software experience
  • Concur Expense Reporting experience
  • Systems implementation experience

LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in database, spreadsheet and word processing applications
  • Highly effective communications skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to research uncommon issues related to the Accounts Payable cycle
