General Overview:

We are building cloud ready, data-driven applications that provide a remarkable experience for our members and patients. If you are a motivated data professional who wants to get in on the ground floor of a digital transformation to build a cloud native data platform, have experience with clinical data, and are excited about working in the Healthcare Data domain to integrate disparate health data for enterprise-wide consumption, then this is the right role for you. In this role, you will get an opportunity to work in agile teams with Business Users (Strategy, Care Management, Health Insurance/Health Plan stakeholders, Hospitals, HIEs), Data Engineers, Data Scientists and BI Engineers to transform data from internal and external sources to purpose built, smart datasets. You will bring healthcare data knowledge, SQL, Python, and Unix scripting skills, and cloud data management experience. You will get freedom to innovate, create prototypes, and build production-grade data solutions that help integrate data from disparate sources for enterprise-wide consumption.

This role is within the Enterprise Data Office. The Enterprise Data Office is responsible for building data capabilities to help the Enterprise Analytics Office and all business units in the enterprise find success in their data-driven efforts.

General Overview:

  • Using various tools, responsible for the deconstruction, documentation and hardening of code used to create derived analytic data within multiple analytic segments of the Organization.

  • Document metadata and definitions (per established processes outlined by Data Governance) associated with derived data extracted from analytic code and reconstructed for production.

  • Work with various analytic resources within the Organization to confirm reconstruction of extracted derived data, developing multiple definitions for the same measure where necessary.

  • Leads functional efforts for assigned projects with limited supervision.  This include the guidance and education of Intermediate and Associate contributors within this team.  Meets individually with customers for specific projects, and will attend with Associate and Base for support. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Analysis, Data Processing, Healthcare Informatics, or Management Information Systems

  • 5 - 7 years of Data Analytics Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of Healthcare Industry Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in Management Information Systems

  • 1 - 3 years of Data Warehousing Experience

  • 1 - 3 years of Database Administration Experience

  • 1 - 3 years of Healthcare Interoperability and Messaging Experience

  • 1 - 3 years of EHR/EMR Data Experience

  • Knowledge and experience with healthcare interoperability and messaging standards, including but not limited to HL7 2.x, HL7 3.x, HL7 FHIR

  • Knowledge of data from at least one EHR/EMR application (EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, Evident, Allscripts, Nextgen, GE Healthcare, Athena Health, Greenway, eClinicalWorks etc.)

  • Familiarity with SNOMED, LOINC, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes and industry standard groupers (e.g., ETGs, DRGs, DCGs, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Big Data Systems, Cloud Computing, and Cloud Data Management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and write complex SQL queries

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical peers

  • Python and Unix scripting knowledge and experience

  • Hands-on experience with a public cloud provider (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure)

  • Hands-on experience with Healthcare Interoperability servers and such as Smile CDR, firely, HAPI

  • SAS

  • Microsoft Office
