JOB SUMMARY


This job understands the business information needs of the company and its stakeholders in making human capital decisions about and in managing employees.  Serves as an internal consultant to senior leaders on workforce planning issues and determines what data is useful to the stakeholders by developing metrics and designing/implementing applicable management reports.  Collaborates with technology regarding the selection, customization and use of systems, programs, software and other technology tools associated with workforce planning. 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as an internal consultant to senior leaders regarding the use of workforce data and analytics. Understand the Company’s strategic and operating plans and workforce utilization requirements.  Act an SME regarding workforce planning methodology and associated tools/reports.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement metrics and other measurements for workforce productivity, ROI, HR program effectiveness, etc. to improve business results.
  • Design, conduct, and direct other staff regarding data gathering, needs assessment and survey processes to provide data/business intelligence that produces actionable insights.
  • Design and implement management tools to optimize workforce planning and management (manager dashboards, reports).
  • Design and implement reports/info tools (in house or directing third-party vendors) that serve as a catalyst for change by helping leaders and managers make data-driven decisions about their workforce (e.g., turnover, span of control, headcount demographics, staffing efficiencies, effectiveness of hiring processes).
  • Develop and deliver presentations to senior executives regarding workforce dynamics and metrics that impact business outcomes (e.g., improve the effectiveness of the sales force, identify specific competencies that drive better business results, reduce turnover in key positions, attract and retain a diverse workforce, improve M&A success rates).
  • Make recommendations regarding technology and other tools to improvement workforce planning and workforce management.
  • Serve as the Company’s project manager for the implementation of new workforce planning technology tools (e.g., best use of Success Factors, internal portal, FreshPath, PeopleSoft capabilities).
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.


EDUCATION
Minimum

  • High School Diploma/GED

Substitutions

  • 6 years of relevant work experience

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistical Analysis, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources or applicable discipline
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management

EXPERIENCE

Minimum

  • 7-10 years of operating in a similar position with minimum of  3 years of experience in Workforce Planning and headcount forecasting/financial budgets

  • Excellent project management skills. 
  • Experience leveraging HR Systems/technology to create workforce analytics and metrics
  • Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting and business operations.
  • Solid understanding of an organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Proven experience in workforce planning, organization and development.
  • Ability to translate and convey complex statistical and other data into easy to understand, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems.
  • Good understanding of HRIS systems characteristics, features and integration capabilities.
  • Familiarity with talent management/applicant tracking systems and HR enterprise software packages.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of human resources management principles, practices and procedures.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities.
