JOB SUMMARY

This job is an integral member of one of our technical teams responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, ensuring the efficient and reliable flow of data across our systems. The incumbent will work closely with our data professionals, analysts, and engineers to build and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity. The incumbent will be involved in every aspect as part of the data process from idea generation, analysis, design, build, and support using the latest various technologies and design patterns. Uses minimal judgement and discretion to assist in collaboration with customers to understand data, reporting, and analytical capability needs, gather project specifications, create data sets, operational reports, and analytical deliverables, analyze data to determine business problems, trends, or opportunities for process improvements, verify delivery of customer data needs, and ensure quality delivery. 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data processes and solutions to ensure the efficient movement and transformation of data across multiple systems Assist and actively participate on project teams in various project roles

  • Research best practices, leading technologies, and emerging industry trends for consideration in improvements relating to rotations 

  • Develop and maintain data models, databases, and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics needs 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, product, analytics, and business teams to gather requirements and provide data solutions that meet organizational needs 

  • Perform data analysis and provide insights to support decision making across various departments 

  • Assure compliance for required standards and all necessary approvals have been obtained throughout the data delivery lifecycle 

  • Effectively communicate with team members, customers, partners and management, including assisting with or conducting requirement walkthroughs and sprint reviews, reporting project status, enabling vendor solutions and providing accurate and concise documentation 

  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Have completed at least one quality internship in a relevant role to this position 

  • Active in one or more club, volunteerism effort, or other activity outside of the classroom 

  • Experience in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns in the building and deploying of scalable, highly available systems 

  • Experience in SQL and at least 1 database technology (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) 

  • Experience in at least one data warehousing concept and solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) 


Preferred

  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory) 

  • Experience in at least one Cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and their respective data services 

  • Experience translating requirements, design mockups, prototypes or user stories into technical designs 

  • Experience in data governance, data quality, and data security
