JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Director, Sales Solution Architect for enGen healthcare technology business. This critical role will generate growth through sales and partnerships using a diverse portfolio of AI-powered products, including a core administrative platform, modular utilization and care management solutions, patient-focused digital products, and clinical data exchange capabilities, as well as outsourced technology and BPO services. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with experience in selling Healthcare technology solutions, having strong financial acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a small, global team.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Solution Architecture & Design: Lead the design and architecture of end-to-end, innovative solutions built on the enGen platform. Focus on creating differentiated offerings across data modernization, digital health, value-based care, and cloud-native technologies tailored to specific client needs and market opportunities.

  • Technical Leadership in Presales: Serve as the technical lead in the presales process, guiding the development of compelling proposals, customized demonstrations, and persuasive final presentations. Drive technical qualification of opportunities and ensure proposed solutions align with Highmark's capabilities and strategic objectives.

  • Creative Problem Solving: Apply creative and technical thinking to develop innovative solutions to address complex client problems. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for the enGen platform.

  • Pursuit Strategy & Value Articulation: Develop and articulate compelling pursuit themes, value propositions, and solution narratives that clearly differentiate Highmark's enGen platform. Tailor messaging to resonate with payer, provider, and hybrid organizations.

  • Sales Enablement & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain a comprehensive library of reusable sales assets, including solution blueprints, technical specifications, demo scripts, and pricing models. Conduct training sessions and workshops to enable the sales team to effectively position and sell the enGen platform.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Growth, Advisory, Delivery, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, aligned with product roadmaps, and supported by delivery expertise. Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across teams.

  • Client Engagement & Relationship Building: Represent Highmark as a technical expert and thought leader in client-facing interactions, including discovery sessions, solution workshops, and executive presentations. Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders, ranging from SMEs to C-level executives.

  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to external and internal thought capital — including whitepapers, solution POVs, and capability overviews on hot topics like CMS interoperability mandates, Stars optimization, care orchestration, or AI/ML in healthcare.

  • Performance Measurement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sales enablement efforts and solution architecture. Analyze data and provide insights to optimize strategies and improve outcomes.

  • Intellectual Property Development: Contribute to the development of Highmark's intellectual property portfolio by identifying opportunities to create and patent innovative solutions and technologies.

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 12+ years of experience in healthcare technology or services, with at least 7 years in a presales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting role.

  • 8 years of experience with strong understanding of U.S. healthcare ecosystem — payer (Medicare Advantage, Stars, UM/CM), provider (EHRs, VBC, population health), or life sciences (RWE, clinical trials).

  • 8 years of experience working with or selling to digital health teams, CTO/CDO organizations, or transformation leaders. Demonstrated ability to design and architect complex, end-to-end solutions that integrate multiple technologies and address critical business challenges.

  • 8 years of Familiarity with modern healthcare tech stack: cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), FHIR, API integration, healthcare data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake), and digital front-door solutions.

  • 8 years of experience with RFP/RFI response processes.

  • 8 years of Exceptional communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills.


Preferred

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • 8 years of experience in fast-growing consulting, services, or product companies 

  • MBA, MPH, or equivalent industry certifications (e.g., CAHIMS, PMP, HL7/FHIR training) are a plus.

SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare industry with latest trends and knowledge of payer systems. Deep understanding of healthcare technology products especially in Clinical, Digital, Provider, Claims, Enrollment, Billing, Benefits, Products and Services. Knowlege of Provider Health Systems like EMRs and RCM processes is a plus.

  • Past experience as an architect or Product owner or Product Manager in Healthcare Technology

  • Develop virtual and in-person relationships with C-level and senior executives at assigned accounts while learning and discussing their business strategies and priorities; identify opportunities and manage sales motions to closure

  • Coordinate relationship building activities with relevant partners, client engagement team and marketing resources to ensure growth and development within the portfolio of assigned accounts

  • Meet specific business relationship goals and booking targets at assigned accounts; report progress against goals with enGen leadership

  • Assist with proposal development, focusing on the enGen value proposition, key differentiators, and win themes

  • Manage the business opportunities at assigned accounts to help ensure enGen is positioned to capitalize on opportunities by providing high quality services

  • Provide feedback from field experience to internal teams and sales colleagues with regard to sales, enablement, competitive landscape, and related matters

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Finance, Healthcare or related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.

  • Master's in MBA, MPH, or equivalent
